Cemendur

Grandfather to Hallacar

The youngest son of Axantur, Cemendur was a distant descendant of Elros Tar-Minyatur, being the great-grandson of Vardamir Nólimon the second King of Númenor. Cemendur's line of descent was through Vardamir's youngest son Nolondil, and so he was far from the royal line, but through a twist of fate his descendants were also counted among the Kings of Númenor. His grandson Hallacar became consort to Ancalimë, who would become the first Ruling Queen of Númenor. So Hallacar's son Tar-Anárion, and all the Kings who followed him, could trace their own ancestry back through Cemendur son of Axantur.
