The published Silmarillion tells us nothing of the fate of Nerdanel, but The History of Middle-earth gives us a little more information. There we're told that she became estranged from Fëanor before he left Aman for Middle-earth, and that she remained behind after the Exile of he Noldor (indeed, she did what she could to restrain Fëanor from leaving).
