About this entry:
A title given to Arwen after she wed Aragorn Elessar and became queen of the Reunited Kingdom of Arnor and Gondor. Aragorn was the Heir of Isildur, descended in direct line from the elder son of Elendil and thus the rightful High King, and through him Arwen became queen of the Men of Middle-earth. Quite apart from Aragorn's line of descent, she herself had royal ancestors: not only did she come of the line of the ancient High Kings of the Noldor, but also (less directly) from King Thingol of the Sindar. Thus she was rightful queen of the Elves of Middle-earth as well as its Men.
