One of several Elvish equivalents of the name 'Rushdown', referring to a minor tributary of the Great River Anduin. It rose in two streams among the eastern flanks of the Misty Mountains that joined to form a narrow torrent rushing out from the foothills of the mountains into the northern Vales of Anduin. The rushing stream flowed eastward to join the Great River some fifty miles northward of the Carrock. This river is notable for several variants of its Elvish form, including Rhimdath and Rhibdath as well as Rhibdad; all these forms are apparently equivalent to its Mannish name, the Rushdown.
