Uial

The time of twilight

A Sindarin word referring to the twilight of dawn or sunset (which were known individually as minuial 'first twilight' and aduial 'second twilight'). The name also became attached to a northerly region of Middle-earth, where a great lake (Nenuial) was surrounded by hill country (the Emyn Uial). The translated forms of those names render 'uial' as 'Evendim', the twilight of evening.
