Wrens

Tiny brown birds

Small brown birds, recognisable by their upright, twitching tails and surprisingly loud voices. Wrens are very small birds, just a few inches in length, and in tale of Aldarion and Erendis they are compared to a similarly tiny bird. The kirinki of Númenor were described as wren-like, but where the wren's colouring is a drab brown, kirinki had bold scarlet plumage.
