Aratan

The second son of Isildur

The second son of Isildur, slain with his father and his brothers Elendur and Ciryon in the Disaster of the Gladden Fields.

Notes

1

The date of Aratan's birth appears only in The History of Middle-earth volume XII, The Peoples of Middle-earth. It cannot therefore be considered completely reliable, especially as that source still uses an older version of his name, Eärnur (not to be confused with the later King of Gondor of the same name).
