Chamber of Mazarbul

The Chamber of Records in old Khazad-dûm

The old Chamber of Records of Khazad-dûm. It was used as a base by Balin when he made his ill-fated attempt at recolonisation: the Company of the Ring found his tomb there as they passed through Moria.

Notes

1

The name Mazarbul is never specifically interpreted, but the fact that this chamber is interchangeably described as the 'Chamber of Mazarbul' and the 'Chamber of Records' strongly implies that the Khuzdul word mazarbul can be read as meaning 'records'.
