Last of the Petty-dwarves, who dwelt in his halls in Amon Rûdh with his two sons (both of whom he outlived) and gave shelter to Túrin and his outlaw band.

We don't have a definite date for Mîm's birth, but there is a hint in The Children of Húrin (chapter VII) that gives us some guidance: '...Mîm was old even in the reckoning of Dwarves...' These words refer to Mîm in approximately I 487, so given that a typical Dwarf would expect to live for some two hundred and fifty years, he was likely born close to the year I 240, or perhaps a little earlier.
