The Mountain

Lofty seat of Manwë and Varda

A name for the tallest of the world's mountains, more commonly called the Holy Mountain or the White Mountain, that stood in the range of the Pelóri that fenced the eastern fringe of Valinor. Perhaps the best known of its many names was Taniquetil, and on its highest peak stood the halls of Manwë the Elder King and his spouse Varda. According to legend, Manwë will remain on the Mountain until the last days of the world.
