The ancient carved images, thought to be of Woses or Drúedain, that lined the road to Dunharrow in the White Mountains. The name is also sometimes used of the Woses themselves.

Dating the Púkel-men is extremely difficult. Our best indication is a draft text (in volume VIII of The History of Middle-earth) stating that Dunharrow was built during the Dark Years (that is, sometime in the Second Age). This would make the Púkel-men at least three thousand years old at the time of the War of the Ring, and very possibly a great deal older.
