The name Tûr Haretha comes from the native language of the Men of Brethil. The workings of that language are almost unknown, and so the name cannot be interpreted directly. However, we do know that its name is also given as the 'Ladybarrow' (a 'barrow' being a grave-mound), and that its Elvish name Haudh-en-Arwen carried essentially the same meaning. It seems safe to assume, therefore, that Tûr Haretha was an equivalent name in the tongue of the Haladin.
