Wraith-road

The road through the Morgul Pass

Also called the Morgul-road, the road that ran eastward from the Cross-roads of Ithilien to the city of the Ringwraiths, Minas Morgul. From there it passed on eastward into the valley of Imlad Morgul, and up over the mountains of Ephel Dúath, coming down onto the Plateau of Gorgoroth on the other side. The wraith-road ran below the higher pass of Cirith Ungol, so that a traveller making for that perilous cleft could see the road leading off into the Morgul Pass.
