The place in the lowlands of Lossarnach where the road running southward from Minas Tirith to Pelargir crossed the River Erui. It was here that a great battle was fought in III 1447 between the deposed King Eldacar and his usurper Castamir. Having evaded capture for ten years, Eldacar was able to build an army and face the man who had taken his throne. Eldacar was victorious, and Castamir was slain, but his sons fled down the long southward road to Pelargir, and escaped from there to Umbar in the far south.
