A door in the western wall of the sixth circle of Minas Tirith, that opened onto a steep and winding path leading down into a narrow valley below the peak of Mount Mindolluin. In that narrow land was Rath Dínen, the Silent Street on which were the Tombs of the Kings and Stewards of Gondor. The door of Fen Hollen was kept locked (hence its name, which means 'Closed Door') and guarded by a porter who held its key. Only the current Steward was permitted to pass the door, as well as those whose task it was to maintain the Tombs, who bore a token that allowed them to pass through the Closed Door.
