One of the Three Rings of the Elves, created by Celebrimbor of Eregion. Its true name was Nenya, the Ring of Water, and it was set with a single diamond. Seeing that Sauron would attempt to take the Rings of Power by force, Celebrimbor entrusted the White Ring to Galadriel, who took it with her to the land of Lórien. After the loss of the One Ring at the beginning of the Third Age, Galadriel was able to use Nenya's power to maintain her own land, which survived until the closing years of that Age. When the One Ring was finally destroyed, the White Ring lost its power, and Galadriel bore it with her across the Sea into the West.
