One of the Edain of the First House, a follower of the lords of the House of Bëor who dwelt in Dorthonion. After the Dagor Bragollach, the forces of Morgoth overran that land, and most of the Men of Dorthonion were slain. It is not known whether Angrim was still alive at that time, but if so he must have been among those lost in the invasion. His son Gorlim was one of the few survivors, who remained with his lord Barahir and a small band of outlaws, whom he ultimately betrayed.

Actually the elements of Angrim's name are directly translatable as 'iron host', but that does not appear to be meaningful as a personal name. |
