A member of the Bolger family of Budgeford in the Shire. He married into the Brandybuck clan when he wedded Salvia, a granddaughter of Gormadoc Deepdelver. Gundabald and Salvia had a son, Theobald, and through him a grandson, Wilibald. Wilibald married Prisca Baggins, and so he makes an appearance on the Baggins family tree in Appendix C to The Lord of the Rings.
